How does it work?
You install your Patch I.T. console on one PC, this can be any Server or XP workstation without any special requirements.
With the minimum of effort using either IP addresses ranges, Active Directory or Network Neighbourhood you scan for your connected PCs.
Patch I.T. will have already downloaded one copy of Microsoft's patch information database and deploys it to your networked PCs so that they can be instantly checked for required updates, with only the PC with the Patch I.T. console needing a connection to the internet.
Within seconds you can view the entire patch position of your entire network and you have made just a handful of mouse clicks!
A simple indicator, green for fully patched, or yellow for requires patches gives you an instant overview of your patch position.
You can then set about deploying the required patches.
In manual mode this simply requires you to select a range of PCs and click update ... it's as simple as that.
Only the PC with the Patch I.T. console requires an internet connection and it only downloads required patches once, absolutely minimising bandwidth and it is then able to deploy the same patch to any other PCs that require it.
You can select when to check for updates and when to deploy updates meaning patch administration has the least impact on your users. You can select the interval at which to scan PCs and download patches.
With Wake-on-LAN capability Patch I.T. can even deploy patches overnight at a specified date and time, meaning interruption to users can be non existent. (Hardware support for Wake-on-LAN required for this feature).
You won't find an easier more efficient solution to your Microsoft patch management.
