Data Inconsistencies and Data Dialysis

DMAG will identify the inconsistencies based on the Client Business rule set, Data Model integrity, and Industry Best Practices. In all the cases, DMAG reviews the master data inconsistencies by each object. There are three types ofinconsistencies, we derive using DMAG tool – inconsistencies with existing data based on the proven business rules, new data Model with Business Partners, and New fields introduced in Industry framework. The resolution will be via two methods: business rules inconsistencies are resolved by Automation, while new data model and new fields will be resolved via Guided Master Data (GMD) process.

To address this challenge, Visionsoft is proud to announce a product called ‘DMAG’.

DMAG automates the Data Mapping, Data Transformations into new data elements, and automates the Data Resolutions. In addition, for the new data model and Business Rule inconsistencies, it provides a guided framework for the Data Stewarts to update the Master Data using Guided Master Data (GMD) Remediation. Further, perpetually, it will be a good tool for data quality check and data dialysis to measure accuracy and quality of the data proactively and take appropriate actions to cleanse the data perpetually, so the data is 100% error free.

DMAG can be used in SAP ECC or S/4 HANA perpetually. It is an ongoing assessment and proactive resolution tool to make the data error free. The Data audit can be conducted daily, weekly, or monthly based on frequency and volume of transactions for a data object.

• DMAG will identify the inconsistencies based on the new Business rule set, Data model changes, and Process changes. The business Rule Sets will be maintained in a customization framework, so clients can customize their business rules based on their preferences, best practices, regulations, and laws.
• DMAG will make changes automatically via real time change and other data tools, where the data sets are system driven i.e. the rules known to the tool.
• Where business process input is required, DMAG will identify the inconsistencies and list output of inconsistencies.
• The list of inconsistencies will be provided to Data Stewart or Data Custodian to make changes for the designated master data objects in the system, and then, DMAG will automate the process of uploads.
• DMAG Provides Cleansing Audits, so that business users can cleanse the data before it is distributed and rendered to the clients and partners.DMAG provides validation reports to make sure the manual entries are accurate and confirm the data is accurate and ready for distribution.

Product Information – A Case in Point

Material Data is a critical component of Digital Product information distribution and for data synchronization between the business partners. There are number of considerations including Trade groups, Commodity Codes, Classification, GTINs, Customer Product Numbers, Attributes, and Price characteristics. DMAG takes into the above considerations and identifies all changes, and provides a report of all inconsistencies including the new data elements , changed data elements, and business rule inconsistencies. Business Rules are maintained in a customizing table, so each client can change their business rules according to their Industry standards. Below is an example of Product Master inconsistency report. The inconsistency report shows ‘ Business Rule inconsistencies’ for each Product vs. Industry framework below in Figure(2).

Comprehensively, DMAG will map, transform and update the masters automatically to match with Industry data model for the above inconsistencies.

1) DMAG will perform the following automation:

•      Maps the fields form SAP to Industry Model data elements
•      Transforms the old data elements into new data elements and fit them into the PIM records.
•      DMAG will upload the inconsistencies and update all Materials automatically.

2) For Business Rules inconsistencies, DMAG will execute the following via Guided Data Automation process (GDA):

•      Provides download of all Materials with inconsistence fields along with filed details
•      The data Stewarts or business users will update the inconsistent fields with right values and save the document as             run upload
•      DMAG will upload the inconsistencies and update all Materials automatically.
