Product Information – A Case in Point

Material Data is a critical component of Digital Product information distribution and for data synchronization between the business partners. There are number of considerations including Trade groups, Commodity Codes, Classification, GTINs, Customer Product Numbers, Attributes, and Price characteristics. DMAG takes into the above considerations and identifies all changes, and provides a report of all inconsistencies including the new data elements , changed data elements, and business rule inconsistencies. Business Rules are maintained in a customizing table, so each client can change their business rules according to their Industry standards. Below is an example of Product Master inconsistency report. The inconsistency report shows ‘ Business Rule inconsistencies’ for each Product vs. Industry framework below in Figure(2).

Comprehensively, DMAG will map, transform and update the masters automatically to match with Industry data model for the above inconsistencies.

1) DMAG will perform the following automation:

  •      Maps the fields form SAP to Industry Model data elements
  •      Transforms the old data elements into new data elements and fit them into the PIM records.
  •      DMAG will upload the inconsistencies and update all Materials automatically.

2) For Business Rules inconsistencies, DMAG will execute the following via Guided Data Automation process (GDA):

  •      Provides download of all Materials with inconsistence fields along with filed details
  •      The data Stewarts or business users will update the inconsistent fields with right values and save the document as run upload
  •      DMAG will upload the inconsistencies and update all Materials automatically.
